Organizing Meeting: May 22-23, 2008

An organizing meeting for the proposed Texas Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers will be held on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas on May 22-23, 2008. The meeting will be co-sponsored by the Rice Alliance and the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UT Dallas (IIE).

The IIE has invited representatives from academic innovation entrepreneurship programs in universities accross the state to become better acquainted and exchange ideas. The objectives of the consortium are to share ideas and best practices, leverage existing programs, encourage collaborative initiatives and increase the visibility of innovation and entrepreneurship programs and outreach initiatives.

Tables to promote your school and programs will be provided adjacent to the meeting area for each registered participant. Multiple representatives from a program are welcome.

4 - 5 p.m. : Registration and Networking

5 - 6 p.m. : Opening Reception

7 - 9 p.m. : Dinner/Keynote Speaker

Friday, May 23, 2008

7:45-8:30a.m.: Coffee and Continental Breakfast

8:30-10:00a.m.: Individual presentations
-15-20 minutes for each school to discuss their programs

10:00-10:20a.m.: Coffee Break

11:45a.m.-12:30p.m.: Individual Presentations

12:30-1:15p.m.: Lunch/Networking

12:30-1:15p.m.: Organizational Meeting
-Elect leadership; form breakout groups

1:15-2:15p.m.: Breakout Groups
-Discuss issues such as name, governance, frequency of meetings, shared activities, other ideas

2:15-3:15p.m.: Reports from breakout groups/general discussion

3:15-3:30p.m.: Wrap-up

3:30p.m. Depart for Airports

The Rice Alliance and IIE will host the initial meeting with conference facilities, meals, airport shuttle, etc. Air transportation and accommodations will be an individual responsibility. We plan to arrange a block of rooms at a nearby hotel at a discounted rate for Thursday night.
