Spring Quick Pitch Competition

 2017 Spring Quick Pitch Competition – Congratulations to the Winning Teams!

On Monday, April 24th, the IIE held the 2017 Spring Quick Pitch Competition where 10 student finalists went head-to-head and competed for 1st ($2,000), 2nd ($1,000), and 3rd ($500) places. Each team presented their business idea within 3 minutes using only 1 slide. Applicants with a creative business solution to a pressing marketplace problem were asked to submit in a 500-word essay describing the problem, solution, value proposition, and market opportunity along with 1 slide. Ten finalists were chosen from the applicant pool to present at the final event.

Do you have a creative solution to a pressing problem? Then enter the 2017 IIE Spring Quick Pitch Competition today. Click here to apply! This competition is only open to current UTD students.

Application

Submit a 500-word paragraph description (problem, solution, value proposition and market opportunity) and one slide. Click here for the application.

10 finalists will be selected from the application pool to pitch to a panel of judges for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place during the Quick Pitch Competition final event on Monday, April 24th from 4:30-6:30PM in JSOM 1.508.

All finalists will be invited to enroll in ENTP3320/6360 Startup Launch I in the fall to help launch their business.

Judging Criteria

Finalist will have 3 minutes and one slide to present their business concept followed by 3 minutes Q&A with the judging panel:

  • What is the problem?
  • What is the solution/product? (How do you solve the problem?)
  • What is your primary value proposition?
  • What does the market opportunity look like?

Awards

1st prize: $2,000
2nd prize: $1,000
3rd prize: $500
