Reverse Pitch Competition, Reverse

Entrepreneurs are used to pitching their business idea to investors, partners, and anyone they might share an elevator ride with. In this competition, the tables will turn. The [Re]Verse Pitch Competition is a new social innovation program to help turn valuable raw materials that are currently leaving local businesses, non-profits, and institutions as waste into the foundation of new social enterprises. Competitors  work with mentors & advisors to develop repurposing business ideas and compete for a $10,000 Innovation Prize to help start this new venture.

 

UT DALLAS Business Idea Competition, The University of Texas at Dallas

Held annually, the UT Dallas Business Idea Competition gives both undergraduate and graduate students from every school on campus the opportunity to develop and present their business ideas while competing for $20,000 in cash and scholarship prizes.

HATCH Pitch, HATCH Pitch

On HATCH pitch day, judges select winners after hearing all finalist presentations while our tech-savvy audience weighs in with comments via mobile and web tech to vote on the crowd favorite. The program spans three SXSW sessions, providing opportunities for networking with fans, team members, advisors, and investors during breaks. Since 2012, HATCH pitch alumni have raised over $150 million in investment.

#PitchAustin MBA Pitch Competition, Pitch Austin

The best MBA startups will compete against each other for bragging rights and up to $10K in prizes. On the day of the competition, teams will pitch their startup, field questions from investors and entrepreneurs from the Austin community, and mingle together for a much needed happy hour before we crown our champion.

Rice Buisness Plan Competition, Rice University

The Rice Business Plan Competition is the world’s richest and largest graduate-level student startup competition. It is hosted and organized by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, which is Rice University’s internationally-recognized initiative devoted to the support of entrepreneurship, and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business. This is the 16th year for the competition. In that time, it has grown from nine teams competing for $10,000 in prize money in 2001, to 42 teams from around the world competing for more than $1.5 million in cash and prizes. The SMU Business Plan Competition provides SMU students with the opportunity to work with their colleagues to create a viable business venture.  Since its inception in 2001, teams have competed for cash prizes and in-kind awards such as office space, legal advice, full patent applications, and Marketing/PR. SXSW Accelerator, SXSW

How does the competition unfold? On Saturday, March 12 a total of 48 Interactive technology companies will captivate a live audience, a panel of judges and co-emcees in Round One with their ideas, innovations, products and/or services. These 48 companies were selected by the SXSW Screening Committee from the hundreds of startups from around the world who applied before the Sunday, November 9, 2015 deadline.

The Trammell Ventures StartPrize, BodyHackingCon

Trammell Ventures is sponsoring an early stage startup pitch and business plan competition during BDYHAX —the $25,000 StartPrize™—  taking place on February 20, 2016 at the Austin Convention Center. We want to help foster the continued development of Austin’s startup ecosystem both in terms of quantity and of quality. While we anticipate some companies to pitch their products or services directly related to the convention, this is not at all required!

CodeLaunch Pitch Day, CodeLaunch

CodeLaunch is an annual seed accelerator for people and groups with ideas for “Apps” who are seeking seed funding. The CodeLaunch Pitch Day is the culmination of the competition and a showcasing of the best competitors. If you have an “idea for an app” and nothing more you are qualified to apply. If you have experience in business and passion for entrepreneurialism you are likely to advance. CodeLaunch will continue to grow each year and has become an event with widespread interest from the startup community including Angel Investors, Venture Capital, and other entrepreneurial organizations and leaders.
