The Institute offers a wide variety of experiential learning-based programs, events, workshops, speakers, panels, competitions, and more.


Big Idea Competition: Held annually (Fall), the UT Dallas Big Idea Competition (previously called the “Business Idea Competition”) gives both undergraduate and graduate students from every school on campus the opportunity to develop and present their business ideas while competing for cash and scholarship prizes.

CometX: CometX, formerly known as Comet Accelerator, is a seven-week, experiential program that pulls student entrepreneurs into an environment that incubates ideas and engages prospective customers in preparation for the launch of a new business concept. On the final day of class, teams will give a final 5-minute pitch to a panel of guest judges.

Emerging Technologies Summit: Annual event (Spring) bringing together innovators, thought leaders, business executives, and regulators to explore how FinTech, Blockchain technologies, and Artificial Intelligence are set to reshape the business and governmental landscape, and even impact our everyday lives.

Innovate(her): Program created to educate young women about technology, finance and the entrepreneurial mindset necessary for a successful future. Participants will engage with professional women mentors from the community through a series of activities designed to encourage innovative thinking.

Startup Internship & Career Fair: You can learn from these real, authentic stories of many Founding CEOs to build your company and accelerate growth.

UT Dallas Seed Fund: The UT Dallas Seed Fund seeks to invest in early-stage businesses with inventions, discoveries, products or services that have achieved proof of concept (or a prototype) and are ready for commercial product development.
